BLUE MURDER Bassist: No Plans To Play French Festival In September

July 21, 2003

Former BLUE MURDER bassist Tony Franklin has confirmed the group's plans to reunite for a future tour. However, contrary to a posting on the web site of the French festival Raismes Fest, the much-missed hard-rock "supergroup" trio have no plans to perform there on September 14.

"Yes, the three of us BLUE MURDER lads [Franklin, ex-WHITESNAKE/THIN LIZZY guitarist John Sykes, and VANILLA FUDGE/ex-OZZY OSBOURNE drummer Carmine Appice] are now talking about playing some dates together in the future," Franklin writes on his official web site. "One step at a time, but all is looking good so far. However we are NOT playing at a festival in France on September 14th. I'm not sure how that got out there. Stay tuned for the latest developments!"

BLUE MURDER released three albums in the late '80s/early '90s — 1989's "Blue Murder", 1993's "Nothin' But Trouble" and the 1994 live tribute to THIN LIZZY's Phil Lynott, "Screaming Blue Murder" — before calling it a day.
